What to Expect
What can you expect when you worship at Prince of Peace?
Here are some questions people who are attending for the first time may have, and the answers to them...
When is your Sunday Service?
Our Sunday service of Holy Eucharist begins at 9:30 AM. You probably want to arrive a few minutes before 9:30 so that you can be seated and have an opportunity to look through the service leaflet/bulletin. Ushers are available at all services to help with any questions you may have.
How long does your service last?
A typical Sunday service lasts about an hour.
Is there a dress code? What should I wear?
There is no dress code and in fact people's attire varies. Most people at Prince of Peace dress in business casual type clothing. However some choose to dress up in suits or dresses, while others wear jeans. That you are present is more important than what you are wearing.
I'm not Episcopalian, can I still come to your church?
Yes! Whether you are looking for a church home or just wanting to visit once or twice, everyone is welcome to worship at Prince of Peace.
Can I take Communion?
All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion at Prince of Peace. If you are not baptized you are still welcome at the communion rail to receive a blessing.
Can I bring my child(ren) to church?
Absolutely! We'd love to have your child(ren) worship with us! Our Church School program for youth through grade 5, meets each Sunday (September through May) at 9:15 in the lower level.
We also have a nursery area available for babies/young children and their parents. The area is located in the parish hall behind the church, next to the music studio.
What sort of music does your church sing/use for worship?
We use mostly traditional hymns found in the Episcopal Hymnal 1982 and traditional service music.
How would I go about getting my child baptized at Prince of Peace?
If you are interested in a baptism (or any other sacrament) you are welcomed and encouraged to join us for worship. Father Rafferty is available after the service to speak with you or to make arrangements to meet to discuss further.
I recently got engaged and would like to get married at Prince of Peace.
First of all, Congratulations! If you are thinking that would like to be married at Prince of Peace, we encourage you to attend worship. Once you have have joined us for worship (or if you are already worshiping with us) you can speak to Father Rafferty and make arrangements to continue discussing in a private meeting.
Have a question that wasn't answered here? Send us an email and we'd be happy to answer it for you.
